A beautiful 2001 proof Quarter Ounce South African Krugerrand gold coin. This gold coin is a 22-carat coin, but contains exactly one quarter of an ounce of fine gold. Proof coins are struck twice to ensure a greater level of detail on the coin.
The mintage for the 2001 1/4 oz Proof Krugerrand is restricted to 5,000 coins. The mintages on proof fractional Krugerrands have been low since the late 1980s. This one is no exception.
